Introduction

At Vianode, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our customers' personal information. This Privacy Statement outlines our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our services and the choices you have associated with that data. We adhere to the principles of transparency, accountability, and user empowerment in our data handling practices. All processing of personal data is in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Personal Data: If you have contacted us via our webpage, e-mail or phone, are a contact person at one of our suppliers or partners, have attended one of our events, have requested information or applied for a position at Vianode, we may store certain personal information about you. The information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, phone number, employer and position, and in some cases postal address.
  • Usage Data: We may also collect information on how the service is accessed and used. This usage data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA), Vianode's legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Statement depends on the personal data we collect and the specific context in which we collect it. We may process your personal data because:

  • We need to perform a contract with you or your employer
  • You have given us permission to do so
  • The processing is in our legitimate interests and it's not overridden by your rights
  • For payment processing purposes
  • To comply with the law

Retention of Data

Vianode will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Statement. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Transfer of Data

We mainly process data in Norway and within the EU/EEA. In some cases, we work with partners outside the EU/EEA (sometimes referred to as "third countries"), and in such cases we take extra precautions to ensure that your data is processed in accordance with our standards through measures such as use of the European Commission's standard agreement that ensures the transfer of data to third countries (standard contract clauses). And transfer of data to countries that have been pre-approved by the European Commission.

Vianode has employees, sites, and offices in different countries in Europe, North America and Asia. Each entity will be following the same policies and corporate rules, even though personal data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside the EU/EEA, where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. If you are located outside EU/EEA and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer personal data, to the EU/EEA and process it there.

Disclosure of Data

Vianode may disclose your personal data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of Vianode
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the service

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
