5 years of Vianode

Five years ago, our company was established under the name Vianode with a clear ambition: to build industrial leadership in advanced battery materials and enable a more sustainable battery value chain.

While the Vianode name is young, our journey is built on decades of industrial experience, technology development, and innovation. Over the past five years, we have transformed ambition into action, reaching important milestones and laying the foundation for future growth.

This anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far, recognize the people who have made it possible, and celebrate what we have achieved together. It is also a moment to look ahead as we continue to scale and help drive the transition to more sustainable electrification.

A new company needed a new name. The search began in 2020, with more than 400 potential names evaluated before Vianode emerged as the clear choice.

The name combines the Latin word via, meaning “way” or “path,” with anode, the critical battery component at the heart of our business. Together, they reflect our ambition: to show the way forward for sustainable anode materials and contribute to the future of battery technology.

Five years later, the name continues to represent the purpose that brought us together and the direction that guides us forward.

Our brand color Viagold is more than a just a color. Inspired by the way graphite takes on a golden hue during charging in a lithium-ion battery, it reflects the science and innovation at the core of Vianode.
