Vianode Wins Capgemini Nordic Sustainability Tech Award for Sustainably Battery Solutions
Oslo, November 26, 2025 – Vianode, a Norwegian producer of advanced battery materials, has been awarded Capgemini’s prestigious Nordic Sustainability Tech Award 2025. The recognition highlights Vianode’s groundbreaking use of technology to reduce climate impact and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
The award, presented by an independent jury, honors Nordic companies that demonstrate excellence across five key criteria: scalability and applicability, technological leadership, impact on greenhouse gas emissions, environmental footprint, and profitability.
Vianode’s proprietary technology reduces CO₂ emissions in synthetic graphite production around 90% compared to conventional methods and enables recycling of graphite from used batteries. These innovations support a smarter path to clean mobility and strengthen the battery value chain.

Anode graphite is the largest component in a lithium-ion battery in terms of weight, up to 100 kilos per battery cell, and accounts for around 20% of battery emissions. Vianode’s scalable solutions not only significantly reduce these emissions but enable resilient regional supply chains for critical battery materials in North America and Europe.
